Ambika Jha

Ambika is from India and goes to Greenwich High School. She is currently a 10th grader and aspires to do something in computer programming when she is older. She has a lot of experience being tutored and tutoring others. She has been receiving private tutoring in math since when she was 5, and felt like it was a big reason why she loves math so much. Having one-on-one time with a tutor allowed her to get ahead in math and feel much more comfortable with mathematical topics. It is also what led her to make Open Doors Tutoring, as a way for other students to open the doors to fun learning and feel more comfortable in school. She started out tutoring her younger sister in math, when she was 8 and her sister was 4. She quickly realized her enjoyment of teaching math, and later on she began tutoring at another non-profit organization. She realized the other organization wasn't able to reach as many students in need of help or find as many tutors to ensure that there was a 1 to 1 ratio, which led to her inspiration for Open Doors Tutoring.
